Image Text Extractor - Private OCR Privacy Policy

The extension handles a screen region or image only after the user explicitly
chooses it for OCR. Captures are previewed locally. When production OCR is
selected, the chosen image is sent only to https://img2text2.p.rapidapi.com
using the user's own RapidAPI key.

The optional RapidAPI key and OCR mode preference are stored locally in
chrome.storage.local. OCR results are session-only and are not kept as
permanent extension history. The extension does not maintain server-side OCR
history.

The extension does not collect names, email addresses, browsing history,
location, advertising identifiers, or payment information. It does not use
analytics or advertising trackers, sell user data, access websites in the
background, or transmit images unless the user starts an OCR request.

Local preferences and the optional API key can be removed by clearing the
extension's site data or uninstalling the extension. Session OCR results are
discarded when the extension session ends.

Permissions are used as follows: activeTab captures the visible active tab
after a user starts region capture; scripting injects the temporary
region-selection overlay; storage stores local preferences and the optional
bring-your-own API key; access to https://img2text2.p.rapidapi.com/* sends a
user-selected image for production OCR. No remote JavaScript or WebAssembly is
executed.
